Night to Unite is postponed until Tuesday, October 6, 2020
Night to Unite (known as National Night Out in some communities) is held on the first Tuesday in August. However, this year it has been postponed until Oct. 6.
The event is a chance to strengthen neighborhood spirit and City-community partnerships. It can also heighten awareness around crime, drug and violence prevention; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Organizers are crossing their fingers that the 2020 Night to Unite can be the same as previous years. However, that might not be possible. Staff is attempting to prepare a COVID-19 friendly back-up plan. More information will be posted as plans are finalized.
Party registration will begin in August.
Registered parties can receive handouts to give to participants, and can request a visit from a Burnsville Police, Fire, City staff member or elected official.
